Particular. Labour focus some changes to planning in particular. Labourfocus on it because they think there are blockages in the system. Too much time taken to make decisions which are holding the whole thing up. Theyve been clear they want to change the Planning System to overcome some of those blockages. They have reintroduced mandatory House Building targets. Local authorities will have a target for the homes they need to get built and will have to meet it. That was scrapped under the last government. While there is an accepted about when and where and how it is built might not be popular with local communities, so it has been in focus. I think we will hear Angela Rayner talk about that today, not just increasing the number of houses built overall, but she has also made a point of saying she wants more social and affordable housing as well, and another element of her speech we were expecting today is going to Focus On Standards in housing. We have seen the reports that have come to
Played a role in ending it. Everyone of you who took to the streets or the doorsteps of your communities to remove the burden of tory rule from our shoulders. But even more importantly, i would like to thank everyone of you who held the social fabric of this country together through iii years where it came under relentless attack. The cleaners, the carrots, nurses, physios, shop workers, drivers, builders, cooks, farmers, retailers, warehouse workers, technicians, teachers and teaching assistants. I could go on. The Working People who got us through the pandemic, and so much more. The backbone of this country. The chance we now have, the opportunity to rebuild britain, that hope is here because of those efforts. So, Thank You all for everything you do and have done for our country. But now the job of rebuilding begins. I have to level with you. As i did on the streets in Downing Streetjust over you. As i did on the streets in Downing Street just over two months ago. This will take a wh
Borrowing from the George Osborne and David Cameron playbook. You say that things are so terrible that we will have to make really difficult decisions. Dont blame me, blame the last lot. We are trying to fix the mess. They have evidence to suggest that argument isnt completely fabricated. However, icannot emphasise enough that Making Decisions is difficult. And the government will have to choose to do certain things. And when it makes those decisions, it will face the consequences of its actions. And in that sense, yes, you can blame the last administration. Yes, you can say that there is not as much money as we hoped or thought or could have been available if the economy had been available if the economy had been managed in a different way. But you still have to take responsibility for the decisions that you are taking. So in that sense, there is no doubt this government is going to feel a lot of pressure over the next few weeks, particularly leading up to the budget at the end of oct
Initially and eventually it went up to over 600000000 to keep the Company Alive nucleus suddenly looked like a just just a dead end area to work in and these are often very very well qualified very smart people felt that they you know theyve made a terrible career choice and their whole life and you know in a sense been wasted big atom had never looked so vulnerable i know we moved in in germany if we didnt these movements and the Ecological Movement discovered the parliaments as a part of when the green party formed the government with the center left social democrats in 1998 it looked like time was up for new clear power and the year 2000 the red green government decided to phase out Nuclear Power when a time when 100 homes are in the lead we started a process of negotiation with the companies about the maximum lifespan of each plant which until then had been on a limited. Run we wanted to limit them to enable a phased shutdown for. And that meant that once all the existing reactors
