A Fermanagh primary school has been awarded a prestigious accolade from the British Council in recognition of its exceptional work in bringing the world into the classroom through its close relationship with a school in Nepal. St. Patrick’s Primary School Mullanaskea has been awarded the Intermediate level of the British Council’s International School Award. This award celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the British Council’s work with schools, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need for life and work in today’s world.

Pilton Bluecoat Academy in Barnstaple has been awarded Intermediate level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.
The International School Award celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education.
Pilton Bluecoat Academy’s international work includes developing curriculum-based activities linked to UNICEF’s Sustainable Development Goals with schools in Uganda and India.
Along with this, the staff have engaged in professional development activities focused on the development of children’s thinking skills.

Priory Community School Academy (PCSA) has been awarded foundation level of the British Council’s International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.
The award celebrates the achievements of schools work in international education.
In 2019, PCSA took students on an inspirational trip to Baza in Granada to boost their learning in Spanish.
They stayed with local families and learned about their culture, enabling them to build relationships and speak Spanish.
