Money Mail chief reporter Amelia Murray has been named Personal Finance Journalist of the Year.
Amelia was voted the industry s top journalist in the British Bank Awards earlier this month.
It is the first time a journalist has been recognised in the banking industry awards, which have been running for seven years.
One voter, who nominated Amelia, said: She is diligent, dogged and determined and has ensured justice for a number of wronged and otherwise powerless people. She persevered for a year on one particularly sad case where a pensioner had his life savings stolen in a scam. The bank initially refused to help but she ensured that they eventually paid up. She’s a wonderful and kind-hearted person, and really deserves this award.’
