Among the many changes affecting the second Food City Dirt Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt Track, the move from day to night for the race is perhaps the
Chastain, along with Kurt Busch, are the two drivers currently racing for CGR and at the time of the announcement, Trackhouse owner Justin Marks indicated that both existing drivers were on the short list to fill the second car next year. With only two cars and the franchise tag that went with them, one driver was going to be left without a seat when the music stopped.
According to NBC Sports, Chastain immediately texted Marks, I want this , referring to the second car with the organization. And apparently his enthusiasm was rewarded. In a statement, Marks said that Chastain has been given a multi-year contract. He is currently competing in his third full-time season of Cup racing.
Trackhouse will take over operations at the end of the 2021 Cup season.
In addition to buying the assets of CGR, Trackhouse will acquire the team s two charters. During the announcement, Daniel Suarez was confirmed as one of the drivers for next season. The second driver will be announced later in the year and Marks said that the current CGR drivers Kurt Busch and Ross Chastain are on the short list.
Busch, a 21-year veteran in the Cup Series, is currently in the final year of his contract with CGR. In his career, Busch has raced for six different owners, including Jack Roush and Roger Penske.

Early last week, we pointed out how difficult it is to win four Cup races in a row before the green flag waved over the Pocono Organics CBD 325 and said to avoid Kyle Larson. As it turned out, we were wrong and right.
Larson dominated the first race of the Pocono Raceway doubleheader, but in the closing laps it was a nail biter as to whether he would be able to get around teammate Alex Bowman. He managed to do so with a handful of laps remaining and was yarding the field until he apparently ran over something on the track and cut a tire. Even after slamming the wall hard, twice on the final lap, he earned a top-10.
