Charles. chuck well, the Santa Rosa Police department, the Sonoma County Sheriffs Office and the Coroners Office are calling this a disturbing trend and they want to warn the public. Over the past ten days, 5 people in santa rosa have died from apparent drug overdoses. 3 men and 2 women, ages 2766. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Office says that 3 of the victims died in public places. Sot toxicology tests on the victims showed they all had heroin in their systems but its highly unusual for so many people to die from overdoses in such a short period of time in the same area. Authorities suspect the victims may have gotten the heroin from the same source and that the drugs may have been tainted. Sotthe concern now is that more people may use heroin from that tainted batch and authorities are hoping to warn the public before its too late.
