Covid-19: Advice event for gyms and indoor fitness centres in Cheshire West

OWNERS of gyms, pilates and yoga studios and indoor fitness centres in Cheshire West and Chester can find out more about how to operate safely at an online event. Cheshire West and Chester Council is holding a webinar for the indoor fitness sector at 10.30am on April 22 to outline new legal requirements, as well as what to do if there is an outbreak of covid-19. Gyms were permitted to reopen on April 12 and, subject to further easing of restrictions, indoor fitness classes can recommence on May 17. Topics to be covered include the rules on face coverings, collecting customer contact details, social distancing and hygiene, as well as how to look after staff facilities, like break rooms or toilets, and advice on vehicle sharing.

More than 8,000 people receive Covid vaccination at Countess of Chester Hospital

MORE people have received a vaccination against Covid-19 at the Countess of Chester Hospital than any other hospital in the North West. That is according to the CoCH s chief executive Dr Susan Gilby, who told Cheshire West and Chester Council s Covid Outbreak Board meeting on Wednesday, January 6 that the hospital had delivered 8,000 of the first-dose vaccinations to patients in the first month. That figure was, she said, at least 1,000 more than any other North West hospital, including large ones such as Aintree and Salford. Dr Gilby said of the vaccination programme: It s nice to be able to talk about that as it s something positive.
