The coronavirus pandemic means St. Patrick s Day won t look the same this year as it has in past years, but there are still plenty of places around Fayetteville planning celebrations.
On Feb. 26, after being closed for indoor seating for nearly a year, bars were allowed to reopen indoor seating at 30% capacity and last call for alcohol sales was extended from 9 to 11 p.m.
St. Patrick s Day is March 17, but many places are getting in on the fun as early as this weekend. Here s a look at where you can celebrate:
St. Patrick s Day at Dirtbag
Saturday, beginning at noon. Burn off the calories you ll drink during the St. Paddy s Day Beer Mile race. Irish food menu from Napkins, plus live music and the release of two new beers. Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom, 3623 Legion Road, Hope Mills. See more info.
Below are some events being held downtown to celebrate Valentine s Day:
• Hummingbird Candle Co., 240 Hay St, hosts an event for couples to explore their 30-plus scents and choose their favorite scents or combine scents. Couples will pour their own 9-ounce coconut wax candle that boasts an 80-hour burn time. The event is Valentine s Day weekend. Thursday and Friday, the company will hold candle-making parties for singles. Tickets can be purchased at hummingbirdcandleco.com.
• The Wine Cafe, 108 Hay St., will host a night of live music, wine and tapas inspired by Italy on Thursday night. Reservations can be made by calling 910-779-2766. The event is $125 per couple.
