The Nigerian Army has said that its troops shot dead a gang of 11 Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives during a shootout in Orlu town in Imo State.
The army said on Friday that the ESN gunmen had attempted to attack the compound housing the Orlu Area Command and Police Station in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that Lance Corporal Adamu Galadima was dismissed from the military in 2013 after which he became an employee of the Kaduna State Environmental Services (KSES) before committing a crime - kidnapping.
The army stated that Galadima was dismissed for attempted murder and not for armed robbery as being reported, adding that he worked with the KSES before he committed the alleged kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old boy who was the son of his neighbour.

A dismissed soldier of the Nigerian Army, Galadima Sani, has taken to kidnapping, leading a gang to abduct and kill a five-year-old boy after the family had paid N5 million ransom.
SaharaReporters learnt that Lance Corporal Sani was dismissed from the Nigerian Army about five years ago for armed robbery, but the military authorities failed to hand him over to the police for prosecution.

The Nigeria Army said on Monday that its troops of the newly reinvigorated Operation Hadin Kai, successfully thwarted Boko Haram terrorist’s attempt to infiltrate into Rann Town, the capital of Kala Balge LGA of Borno State on 1 May 2021.
A statement by Brig Gen Mohammed Yerima, Director, Army Public Relations said, “The terrorists in their numbers attempted to disrupt the peace that has been enjoyed by the border town but were met with stiff resistance as the troops in the area took them on a fierce firefight which lasted about an hour.
“The terrorists withdrew in disarray with a large number of them suffering fatal injuries leaving behind several weapons and ammunition including anti-aircraft gun barrel, AK 47 rifle, handheld communication radio and different calibres of ammunition.
