Woman from Williams Lake identified as victim in Watertown, NY, shooting

New York State Police have identified Maxine Quigg, originally from Williams Lake, as one of two victims in a fatal shooting in Watertown, New York.
New York State Police say Quigg, 50, and her business partner, Terry O’Brien, 53, were at Bridgeview Real Estate Agency where they were fatally shot by a suspect identified as Barry Stewart, a former employee at the agency. Police say Stewart was found inside of his vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Watertown, N.Y. Troopers have identified the two people shot and killed Wednesday afternoon by a coworker at a Watertown real estate agency.
Maxine M. Quigg, 50, of Wellesley Island, and Terence M. O’Brien, 53, of Black River, were reported shot and killed at about 2 p.m. at 145 Clinton St., according to state police. The two victims worked for the Bridgeview Real Estate Agency located at that address, troopers said.

They are 50 year old Maxine Quigg of Wellesley Island and 53 year old Terence OâBrien of Black River.
Both victims worked at the Bridgeview Real Estate Agency where the shooting occurred.
Their profiles say that both of them were parents and community volunteers. Before entering the real estate industry, OâBrien had a 25 year career in law enforcement and Quigg had been an intensive care unit nurse in British Columbia.
In a statement Wednesday, Watertown Mayor Jeff Smith wrote that he and Terence OâBrien were childhood friends who had worked together during high school and college at Doldo Brothers. WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The community is still trying to make sense of a shooting that left two people dead at a Watertown real estate agency.
A vigil will be held for Maxine Quigg and Terry O’Brien this weekend. It’s scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday near the fountain in the center of Watertown’s Public Square.
Flowers were placed by the door of the BridgeView Real Estate Agency office on Clinton Street, where Quigg and O’Brien were shot and killed Wednesday.

UPDATE State Police and the Watertown City Police Department have identified the two victims who were killed in the shooting incident as:
Maxine M. Quigg, age 50 from Wellesley Island, NY
Terence M. O Brien, age 53 from Black River, NY
Both victims worked at the Bridgeview Real Estate Agency where the shooting occurred.
Following a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) a State Police K9 unit observed the suspect vehicle on Route 11B in the town of Dickinson, Franklin County, and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver, identified as Barry Stewart, drove off the roadway and was found inside the vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
