Muhidin Omar Abukar, 33, of Rochester, was sentenced to over 13 years in prison for his role in the murder of Garad Hassan Roble. Abukar had also been previously convicted of second-degree murder in 2009.
Ayub Abucar Hagi Iman, 25, was sentenced in Olmsted County District Court on Thursday, June 2, 2022, by Judge Christina Stevens to 326 months in state prison. He will get credit for 36 months and 4 days he has already served.
Muhidin Abukar, 33, entered into a plea agreement Monday, May 16, 2022, shortly before his trial was set to begin for his role in the death of a 28-year-old Rochester man.
A mistrial was declared in December 2021 in the trial of Muhidin Abukar after an Olmsted County District Court jury could not reach a unanimous decision. A new trial has been scheduled for May 16, 2022.
