BRIDGEPORT Nearly a quarter of a century ago, former Bridgeport Board of Education member Jeff Grandstaff told Don Cash he should run for an open seat on the board. As they say, the rest is history.
Twenty-four years later, Cash was elected as the board president Wednesday night during the reorganizational meeting held in the administration building. It is the fifth time Cash has been selected to the post.
Board member Jerry Moore nominated Cash, with board member Kori Rosnick seconding the motion.
It was unanimously approved, 4-0, with Cash abstaining.
“It’s a good way to give back. I have lived in the district my entire life. I went to school here,” the Class of 1975 member said.
