ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- For about a year, grabbing a bite to eat or drink indoors was nearly impossible.
However, under the state’s new Red-to-Green Framework, businesses in Bernalillo County were allowed to move into the green category starting Friday.
Several businesses said the move was a positive step to their economic recovery. It was like Christmas,” said Matthew Bernabe, the owner of Urban Hotdog Company.
“I was beyond excited – you get into the service industry to serve people,” he said.
Near UNM, Brickyard Pizza spent months restricted by the governor’s public health orders. The owner attributes the restaurant’s survival to his staff, customers and financial assistance.
