Based on details, the victim identified as Gajanand Ghedhariya, (Bhil), a resident of Bhandakhoh village in the Dharampuri area was taking bath in the Karam River when a team of excise officers apprehended him on grounds of selling illicit liquor on June 20.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Manu Vyas told Free Press that the action was taken following a complaint filed by a contractor Shiv Shankar Pandey, resident of MACT locality.
According to information, Dhurve demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a farmer Satyanarayan Gurjar, a resident of Baroda village in Satwas tehsil of Dewas district for demarcation of land.
The two accused had demanded the money from the complainant to facilitate financial assistance to him for operating a cow shelter in Parsukhesdi village as per his two-year contract with the local panchayat.
