A Crofton man has been indicted by a Trigg County grand jury on charges of raping a minor child three years ago.
35-year-old James A. McKinney was indicted on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree persistent felony offender. The indictment from the Kentucky State Police investigation alleges McKinney twice had sex with a minor less than 12 years old in 2018 and had been convicted of at least two prior felony offenses.
Elsewhere, a Cadiz man was indicted on assault and attempting to disarm a police officer stemming from an April incident involving a Trigg County sheriff’s deputy.
A Cadiz man and woman were charged with trafficking drugs after a traffic stop Saturday night.
Cadiz Police say 18-year-old Brianna Hunsinger was stopped on Wharton Road due to her license plate not being legible through her window tint.
During the stop, police say they could see a bag of a white crystal substance in the lap of her passenger 42-year-old Troy Anderson.
After a search of the car, 25 grams of meth along with a digital scale were reportedly found.
After they were transported to the Christian County Jail police say Hunsinger was found to have 2 grams of meth on her.
