Banff town council will be meeting Wednesday morning to make a final decision on the changes proposed to their current masking bylaw, after unanimous consent to move to a third reading of the newly proposed bylaw was not reached Monday afternoon.
Mayor Karen Sorensen and councillors Corrie DiManno, Brian Standish and Grant Canning were in favour of a new bylaw, Bylaw 457, which would see the immediate removal of outdoor masking requirements in the town (upon approval) and indoor masking fall in line with the provincial mandate removal on July 1. Councillors Peter Poole, Chip Olver and Ted Christensen were opposed.
