The Real Blue Wall Grant, Jenkins, Graham

I’ve been watching UM football for 25 years now.  When I saw Hutchinson and Ojabo in 2021, I felt pretty confident I was watching the best duo of UM edges during my viewing history. Watching the pressure and run wall the interior D-linemen of Mason Graham, Chris Jenkins, and Kenneth Grant is starting to give off greatness vibes as well. I’m not sure what the charting would say, but they seem to pass the eye test as best interior UM d-line of my lifetime. Thoughts? Complaints?

WTKA Roundtable 8/17/2023: The Bitty Show

Things Discussed: Realignment news: will Big Ten and SEC band together? Seth: Whatever what they’ve created isn’t tenable because it’s 100% money-driven so it’s going to get blown up anyways. Also Seth: Where are the elected officials? At least one regent has spoken out but even he isn’t going to stand in the way. Why aren’t we holding people accountable for making decisions that are only about money if we care about things other than money? Or are we part of the same hypocrisy? What’s up with the NCAA? They’re a failed org that nobody but Warde Manuel takes seriously. Barnhart starting? Probably an early fall thing, and a mental thing, because Jones grades out higher. They do love Barnhart as a 6th guy but he’s also started the most and played the most for Michigan of all their options, and as we saw with Cade last year, that counts in this program. May see them use the nonconf games for tryouts again. Somebody there has an agenda to get Jim Harbaugh, and Harbaugh ha

WTKA Roundtable 2/9/2023: Playing Through Youth

Things discussed: Chris Partridge: He knows how the SEC is doing NIL. Brian & Seth: He also knows how to coach linebackers. Oversigning Assistants: You know there's gonna be attrition. Everyone's expecting Helow to have a soft landing somewhere. LBs: I've been grading tough on the LBs but it's hard not to watch the TCU game and not think you need an upgrade there. Turning Junior Colson into an elite defender is how you make this into an elite group. They have depth there suddenly. Hoops on a run: Didn't play defense vs Nebraska Spike Albrecht vibes for Keisei Tomanaga. Turning the corner? We'll see against… Indiana: TJD has come into his own, uses his athleticism, doesn't get bumped off his game, knows where his teammates are. A lot of respect for their role players who've added to their games. IU is starting to look more like what they were supposed to be preseason. Lots of height is going to be tough on Dug, so need Hunter to win his matc

WTKA Roundtable 8/4/2022: An End to Sweatpants

Things discussed: Mel/Wilmer Hale report: Why haven't they fired him already? Craig: report says to investigate more. Brian/Seth: the time for that was done over a month ago. Football camp: we're looking at the linebackers, outside and inside and hybrid and nickel. Need to see an edge who can pass rush; interested what happens with McGregor. ILBs have to get over being young at a very hard position, NHG came along last year, when they let Josh Ross make the decisions and whichever kid followed. Depth is a real issue. Sainristil: hard to take it seriously when other nickel candidates Moore/McBurrows/Berry weren't available. [Hit the JUMP for the player, and video and stuff]

Cyan or Saiyan III: Who are you? Who am I? Who is Cade McNamara?

You're back. This is the most unexpected diary I will probably ever (figuratively) pen.  It's also a bit personal, but bear with me:  the title is not a lie; there will be football talk.  I think the result may surprise you. But I'm you. Yes, and you're me.  And we. . . might be Cade McNamara. Now you're just being silly. No, just metaphorical.  Read on and learn a thing about yourself, cheap imitation of Brian/Seth's alter ego.
