James Howard Slider | News, Sports, Jobs - The Intermountain

SLIDER James Howard Slider, formerly of Tyler County, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the age of 86 years. Jim was born Sept. 26, 1934, on Slider Run in Tyler County, and was the son of the late James Owen and Opal Luedra (Neff) Slider. Upon graduation from Tyler County High School in 1953, he first worked at Paden City Pottery, then Hope Gas, then Homer Laughlin Pottery before beginning his lifelong vocation on March 31, 1958, at Olin Mathieson Aluminum Plant in Hannibal, Ohio, which was called Conalco when he retired on July 1, 1994. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union Local 5760.

POE Sandra Wesley Poe, 73, a resident of Hyattsville, Maryland, and more recently of Laurel, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at St. Teresa’s Residence. She had been in declining health, but her death was unexpected. Sandra was the daughter of the late Flor S. and Bernadine (Daniels) Poe, and was born in Spencer, on Sept. 26, 1947. She grew up on Chenoweth Creek, and she was a member of the Midland Memorial Presbyterian Church. Sandra attended the schools of Randolph County, and graduated from Elkins High School with the class of 1965. After graduation she moved to Maryland, where she worked for the Department of Labor, Division of Fiscal Operations, until her retirement in 2011.
