Teela Reid is right to extol the new school curriculum that will tell what really happened to First Nations people from the invasion to this day, but there needs to be a post-school curriculum to guide truth and justice commissions to tell all Australians what happened as proposed by the Uluru Statement from the Heart (“Truth-telling begins in school at least”, April 30). If Britain, America, Canada, Israel, Chile, Belgium, Argentina and many other countries are already rolling out vaccines for COVID-19, why is Australia sitting back and waiting (‘‘New entrant in vaccination race’’, January 1)? When are we going to see some proactive approaches implemented by our national cabinet and scrap leaving it all to individual state governments to deal with? It’s more than time that state governments either introduced vaccinations themselves or utilised the national cabinet to get the ball rolling. Other parts of the world will be vaccinated while Australia is still dithering. We want vaccines in Australia and we want them now.

These are testing times for Robert Gold Standard Hosking of Paddington: I go to my office Christmas party, and get served by colleagues from the northern beaches. So, get tested on the Friday and self-isolate. Result comes back negative on Saturday. Joy! With relief, go out for a lovely takeaway coffee from my favourite local coffee shop, The Alimentari! Second test in six days. This COVID-19 thing is really getting up my nose! We re happy to report that Robert s follow-up was also negative. He s now had four in total. The recent duck tape (C8) mentions remind me of the bargain-shop owner on Park Street many years ago advertising a display of gecko blasters, writes Alan Potter of Paddington.
