This is Reece Eddy’s time we are just watching the clock. Longstick midfield is one of the hardest positions to adjust to when a player makes the jump from college to the pros. The only other position that is harder is probably goalie, and it’s for the exact same reason: speed. Eddy certainly adjusted to the speed quickly, but one of the reasons that the Chrome protected Eli Salama over him is that, physically, Salama is better built for the mean grass streets between the hash marks. Still, Eddy is a phenomenal complement. There is no other player I would want as my second LSM in a two or even three-pole [faints] face-off situation, but you want a do-it-all defensive option as your No. 1, you won’t get that in this draft and it’s a rare commodity. LSMs are like cornerbacks in the NFL you need young ones to coach up because they still have that bounce. This is not a ranking. This is an exploration of possibilities that is most certainly happening too quickly. However, there is no time like the present for informed speculation. Are there ex-MLL players who will make PLL rosters who aren’t on this list? Absolutely. But in terms of how I see players fitting into specific roles in a league that has a slightly different ruleset and play style, these are the first wave of players that entered my cerebellum. On January 17, 2016 a tornadic waterspout destroyed a section of Siesta Key (in particular, the Crystal Sands and Crescent Arms) and then raged across the Intracoastal Waterway to the mainland where it crushed a waterside home at 1604 Baywinds Lane.
