UYC sailors Victoria and Olivia Dembinska (left and right) and Laia Priestley (centre) A Cumbrian Yacht Club has decided it will be chipping in with its own support for the Captain Tom 100 Challenge this weekend. Members of the Ullswater Yacht Club will be aiming to sail around 100 marks on May 1 and 2. All age groups will be getting involved to mark the late Captain Tom s 101st birthday, and they will also be aiming to raise funds for the Calvert Trust Lake District - a charity that provides outdoor adventure holidays for people with disabilities - at the same time. Vice Commodore, Brian Moreton, said: We all love to be out on the lake so what better way to pay tribute to Captain Tom by sailing round as many marks as we can during the scheduled races over the weekend as well as raising funds for the Calvert Trust Lake District through donations.
