CLINTON COUNTY, Ohio (FOX19) - An Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer was shot and wounded while investigating an illegal deer hunting complaint in Clinton County, according to the sheriff’s office.
It happened about 4 p.m. Sunday in the area of Macedonia Road and Martinsville Road, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

(Wilmington, OH) - A longtime state wildlife worker is recovering after he nearly lost his life this past weekend.
The Ohio Division of Wildlife was investigating a complaint of deer poaching in the area of Macedonia and Martinsville Roads in Clinton County Sunday afternoon. Kevin Behr, who is a 25-year veteran of the Wildlife Division, was shot and airlifted out but escaped life-threatening injury. Three men - 49-year-old Brian Liming of Xenia, 35-year-old Thomas Davis of Jamestown and 36-year-old Brian Achterman of Midland were arrested. The charges currently filed against Liming and Achterman include no deer permit and they all could face additional charges. Liming is also facing a felony weapons charge.

An officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was shot Sunday afternoon as he investigated a deer poaching incident.
Wildlife Officer Kevin Behr was shot during the incident in the area of Macedonia Road and Martinsville Road.
The Clinton County Sheriff s Office described the injury as serious yet non-life-threatening. Behr was hospitalized in stable condition as of Sunday night.
Deputies along with other ODNR officers and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the area. Three suspects were arrested.
49-year-old Brian Liming of Xenia was charged with Weapons Under Disability, No Deer Permit, and Hunting Without Permission.
