Officer Kevin Behr, a 25-year veteran of the ODNR, was shot around 4 p.m. near Macedonia and Martinsville roads south of Wilmington. The Ohio Division of Wildlife was investigating a complaint of deer poaching in the area of Macedonia and Martinsville Roads in Clinton County Sunday afternoon. Kevin Behr, who is a 25-year veteran of the Wildlife Division, was shot and airlifted out but escaped life-threatening injury. Three men - 49-year-old Brian Liming of Xenia, 35-year-old Thomas Davis of Jamestown and 36-year-old Brian Achterman of Midland were arrested. The charges currently filed against Liming and Achterman include no deer permit and they all could face additional charges. Liming is also facing a felony weapons charge.

Three Arrested After ODNR Officer Shot in Clinton County

By Newsroom Dec 21, 2020 An officer with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources was shot Sunday afternoon as he investigated a deer poaching incident. Wildlife Officer Kevin Behr was shot during the incident in the area of Macedonia Road and Martinsville Road. The Clinton County Sheriff s Office described the injury as serious yet non-life-threatening. Behr was hospitalized in stable condition as of Sunday night. Deputies along with other ODNR officers and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the area. Three suspects were arrested. 49-year-old Brian Liming of Xenia was charged with Weapons Under Disability, No Deer Permit, and Hunting Without Permission.
