As of Monday, July 31, Brian Heffernan will resume the top news leadership role at St. Louis Public Radio (STLPR), serving as news director in an interim capacity. The position was previously held by Ashley Lisenby, who is stepping down from the director role for personal reasons.
The 31st Gaze International LGBTQIA Film Festival returns this August bank holiday weekend. The festival is marking the 30th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland, with 114 films from 25 countries lined up for the weekend. One of the highlights is David Hoyle’s film premiere of Hedda, a radical reimagination of the Henrik Ibsen classic play. There is a particular focus on trans filmmakers and stories, with trans filmmaking playing a core role in this year’s festival. Screenings will run at venues across Dublin city, with space to catch some of the offerings in The Stella, the IFI, and the Light House cinema. gaze.ie
