A former Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University professor and local church pastor arrested Wednesday for possessing child pornography had plans to foster children from the state, Daytona Beach police said.
After John Robert Griffin II, 73, was charged with 30 second-degree felony counts of possession of photos of sexual performance by a child, police said they alerted the Florida Department of Children and Families. Griffin had recently asked the agency to reinstate him and his wife as foster parents for children and infants, his arrest report states.
