experiences that are relevant to serving on the porch. my mother reminded me, coming full circle, that my father had been the solicitor of the maritime commission in the kennedy and johnson administrations. when nixon took office, we moved as far away physically and spiritually as we could, to berkeley in 1969. [laughter] it was touching to receive the nomination and be able to go full circle with something my father had always cared so passionately about and instilled in me. my first involvement on a city commission are in advisory group was when mayor agnes appointed me to the hunters point shipyard citizens advisory committee. in that capacity, way back, we are still revisiting many of the issues that were around then cleanup, economic development, hiring, and figuring out how the city will be best served by projects on some of their last remaining space. i served on that committee before moving to the san francisco community college board of trustees. again, i think my
francisco, first thing they think about is, let s go thank you all for coming out, especially on short notice. it is a real thrill for all the giants fans and for the elected officials here in city hall to announce formally the trophy tour. we will be bringing the trophy to a city near you but will first stop. the start of the official tour is here, the visa tour, in early january. january 5, we will be celebrate your birthday and the world series victory from the giants. it will be making its way all throughout the state and even going over the state border. we are honored to have the trophy here as a preview of that tour, available for your viewing pleasure and for your photographic memories. we will have this trophy available here for a few hours this afternoon before we head off with mayor cluck of arlington, who was kind enough to join us today. around the applause for the mayor. to fulfill the mayor s obligation, and that is saddling the bets between the city and coun

basically converting it through a process that kept our street lights on in the 19th century and allowed us to have cooking oil at home. it was a big part of san francisco s indiana foundation, but it gets to a point where we turn our back to the old ways of doing things and we d probably lift our heads to a new way of doing things. really, this day marks the occasion as much or more than anything else. thank you all very much.
