Lincoln Park Ald. Timmy Knudsen (43rd) has officially parlayed his City Council appointment into election to a full term, as challenger Brian Comer on Tuesday.
Timmy Knudsen the first openly gay person to represent the Lincoln Park ward, and one of the City Council’s youngest members thanked 43rd Ward voters ‘for turning out in historic numbers.’
Nearly a quarter of the city will get new political leadership in 2023, a result of an unprecedented exodus of veteran alderpeople that led to a generational shift in Chicago politics, with six Black, Latina and Asian American women replacing veteran City Council members, all of them men.
