The recently-retired Alabama Supreme Court justice joins Brian Christine, a former candidate for state Senate, in the race to replace Steve Ammons in the District 5 seat.
Christine ran unsuccessfully for state Senate District 15 in the Republican primary last spring. Current County Commissioner Steve Ammons will step down from the commission at the end of May to become CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
