Last fall, pressure from multiple municipal officials and members of the state Legislature apparently moved the state Department of Conservation and Recreation to take the first of many steps to address structural and safety issues identified on the Nashua River Rail Trail.
Last spring, the Department of Conservation and Recreation spent approximately $400,000 on repairs to the trail including resurfacing, signage replacement and refreshing of pavement markings.
The Department of Recreation and Conservation will extend operational hours across its statewide network of pools, spray decks, and ocean and fresh water beaches, Governor Maura Healey’s office said in a statement Wednesday.
