First court appearance for woman in death of toddler found

According to Cobb County Jail records, 27-year-old Breyanla Cooper of Stone Mountain was arrested just before 11 p.m. on Thursday night. She faces a felony concealing the death of another charge. Cooper made her first court appearance Friday at 8 p.m. in Cobb County Magistrate Court.

Sin confirmar su género ni su edad, la imagen proporcionada por la Policía parece ser la de una niña de uno o dos años de edad. Las autoridades dicen que esperan que alguien la reconozca y ayuden a saber qué fue lo que le pasó y por qué es que su cuerpo terminó en el río.

Georgia police have released a sketch of a toddler whose body was found Thursday in the Chattahoochee River. Earlier Friday, Cobb County police arrested Breyanla Cooper and charged her with concealing the death of another, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Investigators have not said how Cooper is connected with the child, but Cobb County Police Sgt Wayne Delk told Fox 5 Atlanta that detectives had received “information from the public that did lead them to the suspect.” Cooper’s arrest warrant says that she “did conceal the death of the victim, by placing the victim in the Chattahoochee River at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area” sometime between 5 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
