The letter from the Tánaiste, which has been issued to approximately 225,000 businesses registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), thanks business owners for the work they have done over the past year in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Business has had to shoulder a huge burden. Thank you for all you ve done, for keeping our economy going, for keeping so many people in employment and for co-operating with all the public health restrictions. Your efforts have saved many lives and prevented many more from getting sick, the Tánaiste said.

Leo Varadkar has today revealed that from January 1, 2021, the National Minimum wage will rise by 10c to €10.20. 2 2 Tanaiste Leo Varadkar The changes to illness benefit eligibility mean that now employees will be able to avail of the payment after a period of three days of illness. WAGE UPDATES This marks a change from the six days of illness that put workers in line for the payment previously.

Posted in General With 10 days to go until the UK leaves the EU, Irish companies have been urged to look at their Brexit preparations ahead of the hard December 31st deadline by Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs).  On January 1st, new procedures will come into place for any company who is trading in or through the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) and companies who have not yet put provisions in place for this face the very real possibility of their goods being delayed at ports.
