The current which flows through the North Channel into the atlantic from the irish sea is very strong. You know, that would have had an impact on how far hed been drifted out. The big waves around both scotland and Northern Ireland can carry big risks, but they attract many surfers, and being prepared and wearing a good wetsuit may well have saved Matthew Bryces life.
