Rockledge Fire Department Battalion Chief Andy Karl is a true hero. He is smart, he is a warrior, and he is a fighter. All the above come into play as he fights a battle that is unknown to many. Karl was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in late July of this year. He has been undergoing chemo since being diagnosed and will continue to do so for at least the next three months.
Space Coast Daily’s Zach Clark and I are hosting a weekly college football show that will appear on Space Coast Daily every Thursday. Our chosen name for the program is “College Gridiron Report!” We will be talking primarily about the Florida schools, looking back at the previous weekend, and looking ahead to the upcoming weekend matchups. We will also discuss games of interest from around the country.
I recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Linda Roggenkamp, the president of the local non-profit, Brittany’s Wish, Inc. According to their website, the Mission of Brittnay’s Wish is to “provide financial support and other acts of kindness to families in central Florida with children receiving treatment for all types of cancer.”
Community of Hope, a non-profit serving homeless families with children by providing housing programs, “cut the ribbon” on four units in Titusville. Representatives from Community of Hope, government officials, building contractors that were involved with construction, and many more were in attendance.
AVET Project and Frog Bones present “Remember September 11, 2001, Patriot Day Firearms Fun Night.” On Monday, September 11, 2023, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Frog Bones, 404 S. Harbor City Blvd., in Melbourne, “Firearms Fun Night” will take place to benefit AVET Project, a 501 c3 local non-profit that is designed to help and empower military families however they can.
