Celebrate the birth of our country, i often think about the people who defend our liberty with their lives. It is not just those who served in the armed forces. It is their families as well. Even though they dont wear a uniform, they also serve. Today, i just got to tour the iowa veterans,. [applause] arecommandant and his team really doing a great job creating a community that recognizes the personal specific needs of each veteran in the Veterans Home. I was grateful to i also met mark smith who joined me is he in the back . [applause] the commandant called the Veterans Home the jewel of iowa. I thought that was really a nice way to phrase it. That in my put speech. I thought that was appropriate because it was such a special place. Have one sacred obligation and that is to be families who have served in the military.
