Kind Stourbridge schoolgirl's 100 presents for needy

Sophie Howell, who attends Red Hill School, raised £451 by completing a 15 mile sponsored walk. Sophie, 11, completed the challenge as part of Free Radio s Mission Christmas to buy gifts for children who otherwise might wake up with nothing on Christmas Day. Her proud mum Nikki Howell, aged 35, who walked with Sophie from the family home in Stourbridge to Quinton and back on November 28, said: It took us just under six hours. It was so cold. The last four hours were just putting one foot in front of the other. Sophie, who lives with her parents and brother Brett Reece, aged 13, walked ten miles to raise money for Children In Need last year.
