San Angelo Man Indicted for Intoxication Manslaughter
SAN ANGELO, TX- Joshua Joseph Corfield has been indicted by a TOM GREEN COUNTY grand jury on intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle in February 2021.
On December 14th, 2020, north of San Angelo, a pickup being driven by Corfield struck farm equipment that was being towed on the highway.
Corfield was transported to Shannon Hospital prior to DPS Units arrival. Brett Mohler, a co-worker and passenger in the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple alcoholic beverage containers were found inside the vehicle.
DPS Troopers made contact with Corfield at his residence after he declined treatment and left the hospital. He was taken into custody to perform an HGN test. Corfield displayed 6 of 6 clues for intoxication.
SAN ANGELO A San Angelo man has been indicted nearly two months after a crash northeast of San Angelo killed a 37-year old in December, according to an indictment released Monday.
About 5:55 p.m. Dec. 14, 2020, troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup that crashed into the back of a tractor towing farm equipment. The crash occurred about 10 miles northeast of San Angelo on US Highway 67 and killed Brett Mohler, 37.
An investigation revealed the pickup was going southbound on Highway 67 in the outside lane. A John Deere tractor towing a folding grain drill, was ahead of the pickup. The pickup s driver hit the drill, according to a DPS release.
San Angelo Man Killed When Pickup Crashes into Farm Equipment
MILES, TX – The Department of Public Safety has confirmed a 37-year-old San Angelo man was killed in a crash Monday afternoon when a pickup crashed into farm equipment near Miles.
According to DPS. Joshua Joseph Corfield, 38, and the victim, Brett Mohler, were traveling south on Hwy 67 in the outside lane in a 2014 Dodge Ram Pickup.
In front of them, Gregory Irvin Hohensee, 56, was driving a John Deer 4560 Implement of Husbandry Towed – Solid Stand Folding Drill.
The crash occurred when Corfield failed to control his speed and stuck the farming equipment in front of them.
