German-born, Sydney-based artist Kathrin Longhurst has won the Archibald Packing Room Prize for her portrait of singer Kate Ceberano.
The packers chose the celebrated soul, jazz and pop artis s portrait from 52 finalists works on display at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Longhurst s work is the second portrait of the three-time ARIA award winner to take the Packing Room Prize in its 30-year history, following Peter Robertson s win in 1994.

Ceberano, 54, was also the subject of an Archibald Prize 2010 finalist portrait by Christine O Hagan.
The Australian music legend said the portrait, by Sydney artist Kathrin Longhurst, captured her feelings of concern but also strength, after a year in which 'so much of my work has been taken away' by the pandemic.
