The City of Waukee s Development Services Department issued a record 1,489 building permits. That’s nearly $250 million in building permits in 2020.That led to a lot of construction in new developments that shattered 2019’s building records.Brett Carney built a house in Waukee and moved from Ames in October. He wanted his daughter to be in the new Waukee High school boundary, but also took advantage of low-interest rates.“But also the resale value.
