Firefighters responded quickly but the large barn was soon engulfed in flames. Firefighters managed to keep flames from spreading to several outbuildings in the immediate area. “The guys did an amazing job,” Battalion Chief Shaun Abbey said. The fire happened at a farm in the 2400 block of 52nd Street SE, between Breton Road and Stauffer Avenue. Firefighters, using three nearby fire hydrants, closed 52nd Street while responding to the fire.
