as they have said all week. but, going back to what maria was saying about the state she is watching in terms of energy producing states. that s great in terms of jobs. the regulations the administration has put on to oil and gas companies where they berate them and say they should bring gas prices down. every single state in the country is a consumer of oil and gas. especially states in the northeast like new york and new hampshire and pennsylvania where these issues of costs and inflation have gone way up as a result of joe biden s war on energy. and so it will be interesting to see if that plays out at the end of the night. martha: 500,000 energy jobs in western pennsylvania alone. bret: there you go. coming up, we are minutes away from the top of the hour. another big batch of election results. we could have some calls. tucker carlson joins us with his thoughts on the night so far. martha: and more coming up with bill hemmer at the big board. stay with us. we ll be right back
something jesse were commenting on. with when barack obama suffered midterm losses they at least died on the hill they believe in. for obama poor president obama it was the affordable care act. obamacare. he believed in that he lost seats in 2010 and 2014 on healthcare. bill clinton big stimulus package and moves to the left. there is no hill that joe biden is dying on this time as president that he took to the matt that he said it s worth us losing one or two chambers because we did this. if anything, they passed things like the inflation reduction act on a straight party vote. they did build back better. they spent trillions of dollars in money on things we don t have and didn t need and didn t ask for. yet he is going to go down press conference or no press conference, juan he should come out for no good reason. it s really remarkable when you compare him to past recent democratic presidents. bret: we are getting word that is he going to make a statements i don t know if he will
bret: you see a paradigm shift. expending on what happens? jesse: i do. it will be a powerful wave election. just based on the economy and crime. it goes across every demographic. it s not like you are running on the trump tax cuts or you are running on obamacare. i mean, this is something that touches every single american. and they have had it. and they are going to kick the guys out and we could all see this coming except for a few people who didn t see it coming. and then i think tomorrow the president is going to have to say something. he is going to have to come to the cameras and admit maybe something went wrong so he if he can own up to it. martha: what do you expect to happen. jesse: i m actually moving to new jersey. did i vote today and it s a toss-up. crime is the dominant issue i saw a lot of zeldin signs that s his strong hold.
and there is an incumbent, frank who is against a republican challenger named jennifer ruth green. and i find her energetic. exciting. she had a terrible thing happen to her when politico released a report about something, an assault that happened to her when she was in the air force. she did not want that released. she handled that with such dig dignity and grace and a ton of energy. all she wants to talk about is gas groceries and grandkids. that one closes at 7:00 p.m., too. bret: trey, your buddy tim scott won a pretty easy reelections. john what took so long to call that race.
