of employee shortages. other states with lower vaccination rates say mandates would cause major problems in school districts. we can t shut down alabama simply for the fact that we might not be getting as many vaccines. reporter: city officials in new york say they ll have thousands of substitutes standing by for teachers who fail to present vaccination cards. union officials say they re also concerned about staff beyond teachers like custodians, cafeteria workers and safety officers. just this afternoon a federal appeals court ruled new york state must temporarily allow vaccine exemptions for healthcare workers with religious objections. the judge will hear arguments in that case in a couple of weeks. bret? bret: thank you. we got word from our supreme court team janet bream that some new york citiers filed an emergency request with the supreme court to block the vaccine mandate that is about to
