The Berryville Bobcats went into the holiday break on a high note, recording back-to-back wins over Lincoln and Kingston.
Berryville went on the road to defeat Lincoln 72-34 on Monday, Dec. 21, then followed up the next night with a 60-29 victory over Kingston at Bobcat Arena.
It was good to get two more wins before Christmas and finish on a high note, Berryville coach Brent Compton said. Were really proud of our kids.
Considering all that, Compton wasnt too disappointed by a 64-49 loss last Friday.
Theyre a really good team, Compton said. They won our region last year and have pretty well all their players back. Its a tough road to get down there, a tough place to play. Theyve got probably one of the best homecourt advantages well play in. Ill just kind of leave it at that.
Ozark made nine three-pointers, including four in the first quarter as the Hillbillies jumped out to an 18-8 lead. Ozark finished with four players in double figures.
A really good start to the season got even better for the Berryville Bobcats last week.
The Bobcats won on the road at Bergman by a score of 71-68 on Tuesday, Dec. 1, then beat Class 6A Bentonville West 74-68 at Bobcat Arena on Friday, running their record to 7-0.
Two huge wins against two really good teams, Berryville coach Brent Compton said Monday. Our kids just I couldnt be more proud of them. They played outstanding.
Senior guard Landon Chester scored 29 points in the victory over Bergman, then added 26 more against Bentonville West.
Landons just doing his thing, Compton said. Hes shooting it well. Hes making good decisions. Hes finishing strong around the rim, and he makes free throw. Hes just turned into a great player.
