Betty Jewel Vaughn Hooks, 79, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family Friday, July 2, 2021.
She was born in Wayne County April 10, 1942, to the late Herman Vaughn and Betty Greene Vaughn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Rand Hooks.
Moma was a hard worker all her life; she loved to help people with nothing in return. She helped many of her family members, friends and neighbors, especially when they grew older and needed extra care.
In her earlier years, she loved to have fun and loved to dance. In fact, her brother, Lester, told us that when she was young, he would have to hold the ground wire to the radio so she could dance!
