) MiEnergy Cooperative recently received recognition in the national 2021 Spotlight on Excellence Awards program, sponsored by the Council of Rural Electric Communicators (CREC) and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). MiEnergy received a Silver Award in the Best Annual Report Category for “Driving Change.” The marketing team of Annie Hoiland and Brenda Tesch, both of Rushford, and Meagan Moellers, of Cresco, created the award-winning report.
“Printed publications, social media, and videos are all more important than ever to keep members updated on issues affecting the electric cooperatives and their members,” said Scott Peterson, senior vice president of communications for NRECA.
Registration open for Bluff Land Triathlon (4/28/2021)
The eighth annual Bluff Land Triathlon is set for August 21. If you are unfamiliar with the event, it is a triathlon with a twist no swimming. The Bluff Land Triathlon starts with a 3.1-mile run followed by a 15.5-mile bike and ends with a 2.1-mile hike.
All three legs of the event start and end at Creekside Park in Rushford. The run and bike portions are on the paved Root River State Trail and Rush Creek Trail.
“The course for running and biking is mostly flat with a few gentle rolling hills. The hike goes up and down the side of Magelssen Bluff,” said Brenda Tesch, Bluff Land Tri committee chair.
