and we have exciting news coming from the medical world. a california woman has a voice for the first time in more than a decade. in the late 90s, a breathing tube permanently damaged brenda jenson s airway during surgery. she s had to breathe through a tracheotomy tube since then and communicate with an electronic device. she also lost her sense of taste and her smell. well, that change last october when jenson became the second person in the u.s. to undergo the transplant, yesterday brenda reunited with her surgeons. it was my 80th operation. 80th, right? 8-0. and every time you have surgery there s always a risk, but after 12 years of putting up with a lot of humiliation, a lot of teasing, not only from the kids but from adults, staring because i talked with a mechanical machine, and i sounded like a robot, and everywhere i was people turned
