Multicultural Fingal celebrated in Xmas song

Every year, Christmas time is synonymous with singing and this year is no different in Balbriggan where a team of Fingal musicians has been working tirelessly this month to keep culture alive. In partnership with Our Balbriggan, the Irish Institute of Music and Song has released a beautiful Christmas message in the form of a multilingual Christmas song. The video features a poignant rendition of Mariah Carey s festive hit All I Want for Christmas is You , sung by children and young families in 11 different languages. Balbriggan is the most culturally diverse town in Ireland and, according to the most recent census, the most spoken languages in Balbriggan after English are Polish, Lithuanian and French.

Santa to go online at Swords Castle

Christmas magic is on its way to Fingal with Santa Claus taking time out of his busy schedule to take part in a live Facebook chat with excited youngsters from all over the County! I know all the boys and girls in Fingal will be so excited for Christmas this year and seeing Santa. Santa is set to join us in Fingal at Swords Castle this year at a special event where everyone can join him online to sing and chat with him about Christmas, said Mayor of Fingal Cllr David Healy. His visit this year will be different, but he has assured us that he will still be able to get the wishes of all the boys and girls in Fingal. We are looking forward to his visit.
