A new daily record rainfall was posted yesterday at Harrisburg International Airport. 2.31" fell from yesterday's storm, breaking the old record of 1.78" set in 1952. Not bad for a region that was getting very concerned about recent dry weather and drought conditions. It was much needed and came at just the right time. The rain is exiting this morning, although today is starting misty and foggy in many spots across Central PA. Expect clouds to dominate today with only peeks of sun. It will dry out today, but it stays gusty behind the storm. Highs will be in the mid-50s. Tonight will remain mostly cloudy and breezy with lows dipping into the upper 30s.
This week will start on the damp side with a few scattered showers today as a cold front crosses through Pennsylvania. While the rain won't be much, it will be wet through most of the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures will be slow to climb, but highs should be seasonable today, in the lower 60s. The breeze will kick up later today too as the front moves through. Expect clearing skies tonight with patchy frost as lows dip into the lower to mid 30s by early Tuesday.
Dry, breezy weather and hazardous marine conditions will continue into the weekend across South Florida, although a chance of showers and thunderstorms will start to build on Sunday and into next week, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
