Kentucky Stakes Program Approved For 2024

IHRC Notice Regarding Residency | Standardbred Canada

This advisory notice is being sent regarding residency rules for registered stallions, mares and foals participating in Indiana’s Breed Development Programs. Recently, the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) has received increased reports regarding non-compliance of residency rules. Although each of our Breed Development Programs–Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse–have specific rules, the fundamentals of the three programs are: Stallions registered to stand in Indiana must stand the entire breeding season in Indiana. Stallions must be available for inspection at the farm they are registered to stand. Failure of the stallion to be at the location where registered may result in the registration being revoked, foals not being eligible for registration in applicable Breed Development program and/or penalties being assessed.
