no. did you ever encourage dr. morens to use his private email address for official business? no. my next question, sir, is on february 1, 2020, you, yourself, dr. fauci, the nih director collins and at least 11 other scientists were on a conference call to discuss the origins of covid. a number of the scientists said they were concerned that covid was the result of a lab leak at the wuhan institute of virology and were concerned that a revelation of the lab leak theory who hurt their relationship with china. cdc director redfield testified he wasn t invited on the call because he believed the lab leak theory was possible. three days later on february 4th, 2020, four participants on the conference call authored a paper proximal origin sent to you for editing.
he was also on the coronavirus task force. is that accurate? he was a member of the coronavirus task force. left them out because redfield suspected that coronavirus had leak from the chinese lab. is that accurate? he said that, but that s not true. that is incorrect, congressman. dr. redfield is lying to the committee and sat right where you said. when he said that i kept him out, that is an incorrect statement. the roster was dr. redfield on that conference call when you had mr. anderson and dr. gary on that call? he was not. the conference call was put together by jeremy. knowing kept him out. he said he was kept out because he felt did u.s. tax dollars? do you want me to answer the question? part of the coronavirus task force would have been on the call.
because we are out of time, but i want to ask you this quick question. if redfield was supposed to be in charge of the covid response, how did fauci end up in charge? this is the biggest mystery that i can t understand why congress isn t looking into it. if there s a chance for us to continue at some stage, i would like to propose that be a topic. because he did it, he stepped into a void with a great deal of new york shtick and confidence, convinced the president he was in charge. he had no statutory duty. we had a biological preparedness plan in place for exactly a pandemic of this nature, either coming from nature or we will call it supernatural, out of a lad. we had a detailed plan signed by president trump, totally ignored, and fauci stepped in to try to quash the enrollment of dr. redfield in particular because he was doing the right thing trying to figure out what the nature of this artificially created the virus was, and how dangerous it would be.
