Breaux Bridge s police chief was rushed to the hospital after he was injured when his gun accidentally went off during a training exercise at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff s Office.

Former Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Chief of Police Rollie Cantu has been arrested on charges of malfeasance in office and theft of guns missing from evidence room.
Deputies were able to recover twelve firearms from the former Chief. These firearms were removed from the evidence room during Cantu’s time as Chief of Police from January 2015 through December 2022.
