380 different organizations have all endorsed a draft plan for the United States to address climate change. That draft has been sent to President-elect Joe Biden. The first step, according to the plan, is to declare a National Climate Emergency.
“Our house is ablaze with a fire fanned by Trump for four years,” said Kassie Siegel, director of the Center for Biological Diversity’s Climate Law Institute in a statement. “There’s no time to lose. Biden must take bold action the moment he steps into the Oval Office, without punting to a dysfunctional Congress. This order is the road map for Biden to be the climate president we need.”
