1/1 A CLERGYMAN has blessed a Hampshire bus shelter built to replace one destroyed in a crash that left a woman trapped inside her home. A lorry was travelling through Breamore when it left the road and ploughed into the front of a Grade II-listed cottage owned by Paul and Gaynor Hammond, causing extensive damage. An adjoining bus shelter was smashed to pieces in the incident, which occurred less than three weeks before Christmas in 2018. The blessing was performed by Canon Gary Philbrick, of Avon Valley Churches, in a roadside ceremony that was attended by Mr and Mrs Hammond. Canon Philbrick said: We give thanks for the safety of Gaynor and Paul on that morning and for the friendship, generosity and hospitality they received from so many.
